OPPO is all set to launch an all-new K-series of smartphones and it seems that the OPPO K1 is the first device of the new series. Many rumors and leaks about the Oppo K1 have been floating around for days. Yesterday, Oppo unveiled its K1 smartphone in China.
Oppo K1 Specs:
It comes with a 6.4-inch 2340x1080px Super AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint scanner and a Snapdragon 660 chipset with 4GB or 6GB of RAM.
The Oppo K1 boasts a 16MP + 2MP dual camera on the back and a 25MP selfie camera on the front. The hardware is highly enhanced by AI capabilities like scene recognition (up to 120 scenes) and AI Beauty. There’s a 3,500mAh battery to power the Oppo K1 while on the software side of things, its running Android 8.1 under Oppo’s Color OS 5.2.
OPPO K1 Color options are available in Red Mocha and Brahma Blue Star.
When looking into the device as performance wise, the OPPO K1 managed to score 1436 points in the single-core test and 5467 points in the multi-core test. However, the single-core test is below the average score expected from a Snapdragon 660-powered smartphone but the multi-core score is quite impressive.
The Oppo K1 is now up for pre-order in China retailing at CNY 1,599 (€200) for the 4/64GB model and CNY 1,799 (€230) for the 6/64GB one. Shipments start from October 19.
The other in-display fingerprint scanner releasing soon is the Vivo V11 smartphone.
Vivo V11 smartphone specs:
The online unveiling of the phone confirms that the Vivo V11 has an in-display fingerprint scanner, the company’s trademark. It’s similar to the one on the Vivo Nex. It’s slightly slower than a traditional fingerprint scanner, but still more convenient to use than a scanner on the rear of the phone.
It has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and comes with what is being named as Halo FullView Display by the company, a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED screen. Since the in-display fingerprint technology only works with AMOLED screens, it definitely represents an upgrade for the V series.
It consists of a 91.27% screen-to-body ratio, which is not unlike the Oppo Find X, which has a ratio of 93.8%. There’s a small notch at the top of the screen, now commonly referred to as a waterdrop notch. The body includes curved glass on its rear, and it comes in the colors called either Starry Night or Nebula Fusion, each of which reflects a bold shiny effect on the back of the phone. The Starry Night fades from dark to light blue with a glitter effect.
The dual-sensor camera on the back of the Vivo V11 combines a 12MP lens with a 5MP one. It comes with features like time-lapse photography, Live Photo, bokeh, AI face beauty, camera filter, AI backlight HDR, AI scene recognition, AR stickers and more.
The front of the phone has an even more powerful 25MP camera. It’s equipped with features like camera filter, portrait, Live Photo AI face beauty AI backlight HDR, AR stickers, AI selfie lighting and AI face shaping.
Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset paired with 6GB of RAM. It has an additional 128GB of internal storage and 3,315 mAh battery with fast charging features. There’s has been no mention so far on whether there’s microSD support available for the phone.
