The widely anticipated Huawei Mate 20 series makes its debut in a little less than three weeks giving enough time to speculate over the features. The curiosity has been answered by the new and official teaser. The official video teases the anticipated Mate 20 Pro as “something new that’s worth exploring”.
The official Huawei Mate 20 Pro renders reveal three dynamic colors and confirm the final look. The colors unveiled are twilight, black and blue. However, there are unconfirmed reports claiming that a green model in the works as well.
The first color, twilight is a perfect blend of blue, purple and black. It is somewhat reminiscent of the P20 Pro but with a slightly more refined look.
The second color variant unveiled, Blue has an aura of pure sophistication around it. The glass material has a finish that disguises it as faux fabric.
The third color revealed, is the Classic Black and bears resemblance to the Mirror Black color variant of the OnePlus 6. This hue has an edge over the others because the square housing of the triple camera setup perfectly blends in with the black of the model.
Huawei assured 46% faster and 178% more power-efficient GPU and delivered well on that promise. The overall performance peaks up to 37%. The new Mate 20 phones will also have CAT 21 LTE modem that can go as high as 1,732 Mbps. Additionally the Mate 20 phones will likely have the same 40 MP + 20 MP B/W + 8 MP tele setup.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is all set to introduce a brand new 6.3-inch curved edge, OLED display with a 3120 x 1440 resolution. Unlike other devices on the market though, Huawei’s offering boasts extremely slender side bezels and a comparatively small chin. Also, the usual top bezel has been swapped out for a new notch with the front-facing camera, the in-ear speaker, and a new Face ID-like technology. Tackling counter security measures, it’s noteworthy to mention that an in-display fingerprint scanner is being employed in the new design.
The rear end of the model showcases the glass to have been slightly curved towards the edges to provide more ease and comfort. The dominant feature on the panel is a large square-shaped camera module in the center which has the three rear sensors and a dual-tone LED flash. The renders also confirm they all have a red-colored power button, however, the volume button seamlessly blends in with the rest.
With regards to the internal side of things, Huawei will be including their new Kirin 980 along with a minimum of 6GB of RAM. This is also expected to be enhanced with 128GB of non-expandable storage. It has been rumored about the battery life that a 4,200mAh pack should make its entrance alongside support for both wired and wireless fast charging. Finishing off the setup will be Android 9 Pie straight out of the box.
Huawei will release the Mate 20 Pro along with regular Mate 20 on October 16 in London.
