How To Install Or Delete Fonts In Windows 10: Step-by-Step Guide

Microsoft’s Windows 10 software comes loaded with a large number of fonts in over a hundred languages. If you still can’t find the font you want to use on your computer or for a project, you can easily install new fonts on your Windows computer. You can also delete any of the default fonts that you don’t like with just a few simple clicks. Let’s check out how to install or delete fonts in Windows 10.

Installing new fonts

There are a few different ways to install new fonts.

First method

One of the easiest ways is to install fonts directly from the Microsoft Store. Go to Settings > Personalization > Fonts and then click on Get more fonts in the Microsoft Store. Now you’ll be taken to the fonts page of Microsoft Store. Click on the font of your choice to install it, just like you’d install an app.

Second method

If you want to install a font manually, you have to first download it from the web. The downloaded fonts will often be .ttf files. If the downloaded font is a zip file, right-click on the file and select Extract All and then save the extracted files to a folder of your choosing.

After extracting the file, right-click on it and click Install. It’s as simple as that.

Third method

Another way is to drag-and-drop the downloaded font file to install it quickly. First, download the font from the web and extract the file if required. Now type Control Panel in the search box located in the bottom left corner of the taskbar. Click on the top result.

From Control Panel, go to Appearance and Personalization and click on Fonts. Now you’ll see the entire font library loading. Drag the new font file from wherever you had saved it to the font window. Once it’s transferred, the font will be ready to use.
