We all know how restrictive iOS is as an operating system. Compared to Android the rules seem tighter on the former. This is why jailbreaks are so common for iOS users. They are always on the hunt for more control over the device. However, all the restrictions put up by Apple are in a bid to assure full proof security. Not everything has to be done through jailbreaks. There has been reports of ways to change some things without needing a jailbreak. For example, changing the carrier logo. Which is our hot topic of discussion today. In this article we will provide step by step instructions of how to do it.
Steps to follow when attempting to change carrier logo
Step 1: On the iOS 12 we want to change the carrier logo for, head over to ‘app.ignition.fun’ using your iPad or iPhone. It will work on both.
Step 2: There will probably be an ad that can be cancelled on the top-left corner. At the bottom part of the view, select the icon that looks like an opening box with a triangle coming out of it. A list will present itself. Scroll down and select the option ‘utilities’.
Step 3: Look for the CarrierChanger12 utility and press on it. Select the get option and go through the process of installing the package.
Step 4: Since this is a third party app installed out of Apple’s set up conventions, you will need to tweak the trust settings. Navigate to settings then General then Profiles and Device management and trust the application profile.
Step 5: Launch the installed application and you will notice that there is a box at the top that lets you input any text that you want. The text inserted will be the new carrier logo. The text field allows for use of even emojis.
Once you’ve followed all this steps the carrier logo should have changed to suit your preference. If not, you will have to reboot the device so that the changes take effect. Feel free to ask questions or comment on the article in the comment section below.
