Check Everything That Is Announced At Google Pixel 3 Launch Event

Google’s 10th anniversary celebration at the Pixel 3 launch event today may have been somewhat marred by one of the most massive product leaks in recent tech history. Fortunately the company had something other than a couple of smartphone releases up their sleeves.

Here’s everything Google announced today. If you were looking forward to a pair of new Pixel Buds or a Pixel Watch, then you’re out of luck unfortunately. Better luck next time.

The company announced new phones, a tablet, laptop, smart home hub and even an AR partnership with Marvel and Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover.

Pixel 3 and 3XL :

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have turned out to be the most leaked flagship smartphones ever, and that includes the iPhone X that was leaked ahead of its launch last year.

So, we did get a pair of new Pixels, as was expected. Google’s notchless Pixel 3 comes with a 5.5-inch display which will set you back $800 .The larger Pixel 3 XL boasts a 6.3-inch display and retails at $900, still a whole $100 less than Apple’s iPhone XS. Other new features include some major camera upgrades and a color dubbed “Not Pink.” There’s also an official charging stand, which is more than Apple can say for itself.

Details we already knew about the Pixel 3, included it using Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64 and 128GB storage options.

Previous leaks also included, revealing the device’s entire collection of live wallpapers in both image form and the Pixel 3 Wallpapers app ahead of the official release on October 9.

The animated “live” wallpapers also transform dynamically as the device is tilted when unlocking the phone or playing music even. Some also progressively shift as the day passes to match the time depending on the reaction to various stimuli.

The new series of wallpapers is highly reminiscent of last year’s collection in 2017, but it has an addition of more landscape beauties like the majestic city of Schwyz, the Zion National Park from a Bird’s Eye view, the white sands of the Sonoran Desert and Switzerland. The Marvelous Marble that is the Earth rotating with access to the phone’s location is present yet again, but now instead of Planet Red, there is an additional New Horizons wallpaper that brings us the revolving Pluto.

Unlike the previous Pixel 2 series, the new Google Pixel 3 smartphones comes with City Silhouette wallpapers. They feature New York City and San Francisco in 3D monochromatic fashion. Throughout the day the city is well-lit, while during the course of the night, it is pitch dark, bringing an even more hyper-realistic and immersive feeling if you happen to reside in these cities, or even just in their time zones.

Pixel Slate

Pixel Slate is Google’s newest Chrome OS device. The 12.3-inch tablet is cheaper than last year’s Pixelbook with a starting price of $800. It’s also slimmer than the Pixelbook at 7mm, comes with a familiar keyboard with weird, round keys, and a much better display at 293 ppi (3,000 x 2,000 pixels).

Home Hub

Google’s first display attached to a smart speaker is official now and retails at $150. It’s available in green, white, pink and dark grey and comes with one big edge over Amazon’s and Facebook’s alternatives: a built-in YouTube.
